Pluto in Capricorn ~ Transformation of World Order

Change is constant and Pluto in
astrology is well known for its transformational powers. What sign it travels through shows what is
being transformed. Pluto is small in size, but a very powerful force. It was
discovered in 1930 and shortly afterwards the atomic bomb was created with
Uranium and Plutonium, mirroring the power of this discovery. “As above, so
below." Pluto represents death and endings, the breakdown of structures in our life in order to bring transformation and fresh
beginnings. Pluto brings us face to face with the ultimate reality of life and
watching over us like a shamanic guardian destroys whatever stands in the way
of our soul's destination. Pluto
reveals all things hidden
and secretive. It is the shadow of the collective, the principle of death and
rebirth. It brings the dysfunction to the surface which forces
transformation for healing. Pluto takes out our
garbage. Pluto creates break down or break through in the sign it transits.
Barbara Marx Hubbard reminds us In the film “Humanity Ascending” that this
break down or break through energy is the evolutionary process. While Pluto takes
248 years to orbit the Sun, its elliptical orbit means that it doesn't spend
the same amount of time in each sign. For example, it only took twelve years to
travel through Scorpio, but 26 years to get through Cancer and 19 years through
Leo. Pluto entered Capricorn for the first time January 25, 2008 then retrograded back into
Sagittarius on June 14, 2008
where it made one final sweep through the Sagittarian issues of religion,
philosophy, travel, ideology, journalism, optimism, and general expansion. It
entered back into Capricorn on November
26, 2008 and will remain there until January 21, 2024. Looking at where we have been to understand better where
we are going, Pluto has been traveling through Sagittarius since 1995 through 2008, bringing
with it wars over religion and ideology. Sagittarius rules the media and
entertainment and during this time the Internet opened a huge new world
communication market (Facebook, Myspace, YouTube, etc). Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter
carries with it relentless optimism and an expansive need for growth as
shown in the soaring home prices and a stock market that seemed to have no end.
The new economy of the dot com era occurred under this influence, as did the
explosion of vacation homes and a major increase in jobs markets being shipped
overseas. Pluto ended cycle its cycle in Sagittarius in 2008 and moved forward into Capricorn,
it’s was a new day. Pluto wasted no time in breaking down the financial market. This occurs at a time when our Capricornian structures are
ready for transformation. These are the structures of our world that keep our
societies in order and functioning; governments, churches, industries,
corporations, money, roads, all of these are ruled by Capricorn. Capricorn also rules how we take care of our old people, end of life issues
and time. Capricorn being an earth sign is rooted
in the material world and understands that life on earth requires a practical,
reliable, responsible approach to material matters. It is the sign of the builder and the achiever. As Pluto moves through Capricorn we can expect the transformation of all
things ruled by that sign. As we look at these issue we may ask ourselves some
questions. Capricorn ruled by Saturn stands for the father figure, our
authority figure. How will that be transformed? In this break down or break
through process will we be more self empowered by returning the power to
the people or will big brother be watching us even more? It also rules time. The
Mayan Calendar and the Hopi prophecies speculate that the year 2012 is the end
of time, which occurs during this passage. Will we truly learn to live in the
Now, stepping our of linear time? Will this be the end of “time”? The
environment will be strongly affected since Capricorn is an earth sign and many
of the pollution problems come from our industrial systems. Will we break down
with old fossil fuels or break through with new wind and solar energies? As we
think about how this could transpire, we need to remember we have choice in
these experiences. Will we break down or break through? Although Pluto in Capricorn will bring to the surface all
that is not working in these systems, there will be an increased focus on
proficiency, skill, and a determined successful outcome. Since 1995 Pluto’s move through Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter was quick and
expansive. It’s message being “take the leap and don't be concerned with
details”. As Pluto moves through
Capricorn ruled by Saturn, the teacher, we will experience a more reflective
approach with slow, focused, restrictive energies. This will slow us down with our
“got to have it all, there are no limits” attitude, creating more balance in
our lives. This will give us the opportunity to stop and think about our
actions and gain another level of insightfulness.
We will need to remember to choose joy in our lives though because Capricorn
can get very serious as its systems and structures are rebuilt. Pluto transits typically include a breakdown phase, where
structures that no longer serve us are dismantled to make room for new
structures that are more in line with our spiritual evolution. If we understand
the process and can surrender to it with trust, this can be an exhilarating
time of transformation and empowerment. With an understanding of the
cycles of planetary influence it becomes clear that we are in the divine flow.
As the tide turns in these changing times, we are reminded we are right on time.
Our part is to stay out of fear while remembering we are star dust and we are
apart of the unfolding heavenly design. For more information on how Pluto in Capricorn affects

Now that Capricorn has transit to 13 degrees of 30 we can clearly see the breakdown of the systems. Hold on we are merely halfway through the transformation of the system. Remember we are the creators. Be conscious of your choices and choose love, joy and peace. |
Reevaluating Our Relationships ~ The Effects of Saturn in Libra

Cupid’s arrow might feel more grounded this Valentine’s Day instead
of airborne with fantasies of romantic love because his mother, Venus, the
Goddess of Love,is receiving a visit from a teacher. Venus, “Goddess of Love and Beauty,” is the ruler of the
astrological sign, Libra. In astrology Libra is the domain of partnerships.
It’s the place where the “I am” goes through the cycle to connect with the “we
are.” Libra seeks balance. The sun’s entrance into Libra marks the degree of
the Autumn Equinox. Fairness and justice are high priorities as shown by the
symbol of the scales. Being ruled by Venus, Libra enjoys the arts and is
attracted to beauty in many forms. Libra’s element is air, ruling the
intellect. Sounds good so far, beauty, love and partnerships, but even
the Goddess Venus must meet with “the teacher” as she dances through the
heavens ruling Libra and Taurus. Saturn is the teacher in astrology. Saturn transits
through Libra from October
29, 2009 to October
5, 2012. This is a twenty-nine year cycle and will last about two
and a half years. During this time we
are asked by the celestial influences to reevaluate our relationships and all
things ruled by the Libra/Venus vibration. Saturn’s goal, as it transits, is to
bring stability by being practical, dependable and responsible because these
are the corner stones for building anything valuable in our lives. These
actions will ground our efforts and in time with perseverance we will see the wisdom
that Saturn brings. As Saturn transits Libra we become more aware of
inequalities in relating, personally and globally. Recently, the issues of bullying
and gay rights in the military, as well as same sexpartner marriages have made
headlines bringing to our awareness the injustice byintolerant states of mind. The Wiki Leaks will
certainly call for responsible discipline with relationships. Libra wants
harmony in relationships and the discipline of Saturn will call us to act with
integrity and fairness. Libra’s soul mission is to put neither none above nor
none below, but rather to walk side by side all individuals. Libra’s polarity is Aries. Aries is the “I AM.” Libra is the
“WE BALANCE.” As Saturn travels through Libra it will be in opposition to
Aries. During this transit we are being called to acknowledge these opposites
and consider; how do I stand in my own individuality as I merge deeply with
others? What is truly valuable to me in
relationships since they are a mirror of the self? What serves the other,
serves me. What serves me, serves the other because we are one. The Lovers in Tarot tell us to have harmony we need to
balance the masculine and feminine energies within. The feminine represents the
inner voice, the intuition; the masculine is the ego or the ability to act on
what we know. As we balance our lovers within, we balance our relationships without.
Our first relationship is with the self/soul. The work is done on a personal
level before we are ready to join with others. With Saturn in Libra it is now time to join with others in working
toward harmonious relationships and to bring the opposites to the center where
we unite as one. |
